Who we are
I’ve (linkedin) been working in blockchain professionally since 2016, in exchanges and startups in a range of marketing disciplines. I’m all-in on internet communities and like to experiment. Running Irtysh since 2017, full time since 2019. My (private) co-founder is one of the most skilled community operators I’ve ever met.
Our entire client base is from industry referrals only. About a third of our past clients came from leading crypto marketing/community firms, and switched over after hearing our superior service quality from trusted referral agents.
We have a small team of ~10 CMs, and they are the best in the industry. Reason being, they are trained and managed extremely well, and we are very careful about scaling. I intend to keep Irtysh a small specialist shop that provides exceptional quality. We enjoy working with other innovators over maximizing our bottom line.

- People join communities because they want human connection. This means your CMs have to be open, relaxed and be willing to create relationships. We are aware of the fine line between that and being professional/brand safe.

- We prefer live-style text communications with clients, with monthly or bi-weekly summaries available on request. All in written form.
- Selective Relationship Builders
- The biggest mistake I see in community management is the desire to ‘keep everyone happy’. This is a 1 way ticket to eventual ghost town. The key is to nip the bud on low-ROI members and redirect that energy into cultivating potential brand ambassadors. This ‘bud-nipping’ can seem harsh at first, but remember that having some haters is a good metric to measure. If you have none, you’re doing something wrong.
